Our Mission and Vision
Heart of the Trails is dedicated to enriching the experiences of park visitors by fostering a community that values shared use and equal access to trails. As a nonprofit public benefit corporation, we focus on supporting volunteer organizations within the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreation Area. Our mission is to educate, train, and promote volunteerism while enhancing the natural and recreational quality of these cherished public lands.
Through our efforts, we aim to build, improve, and maintain trails, provide interpretive and educational programs, and promote trail etiquette. Our commitment is to create a welcoming environment for all trail users, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the beauty and adventure of the outdoors.
